The 12 Months of Wellness Guide explains the postures, breathing, meditation and how to incorporate all this into your life on a daily basis. Fully illustrated with detailed drawings which I found extremely helpful. Such a wonderful guide. I highly recommend this to everyone!
This was well written and instructive. It handled descriptions of the poses and photos really well - easy to understand and view. It was well done.
I have always been neglectful of exercise, plus I'm underweight, and my muscle mass has been minimal for a few years now. But since I started using this as a guide (only the simplest poses, nothing crazy, I am very selective when choosing my poses) and it's been three weeks, I noticed my butt getting rounder and my biceps and stomach more shapely. I am sure it's not the book per se that made the difference but yoga itself, but in my case I learned the poses this guide contains, and so I'm obliged to give it 5stars.
This handbook is a perfect guide for my home based practice. Easy to follow instructions and advice. And, it is inspiring.
This book is a great starting point for getting into yoga. The book gives you a photograph, detailed instructions on how to perform the pose and for how long, benefits (how the pose helps you, which is something many instructors in bigger classes won't teach you), "contraindications" (warnings to not do the pose if you have certain prior injuries), and variations on the pose. As a beginner, this covers everything I'm looking for without diving too deep into anything I'm not ready for yet. Definitely recommend!
