Christian Meditation is a structured form of prayer that helps to bring awareness of the gifts of God. It allows you to focus on specific thoughts and reflect on their meaning in the eyes of God. Bible passages and prayers can help you focus on the topics you wish to explore in depth. Christian Meditation teaches you a deeper understanding of God’s love and how it brings light into your life.

According to Edmund Prosper Clowney, there are 3 important dimensions of Christian Meditation. The first dimension is that Christian Meditation is rooted in the Bible. The passages in the Bible allow you to have a personal connection to God and understand the messages through revelation. The second dimension is that Christian Meditation is a response to the love of God. Through Christian Meditation, you can strengthen your love for God and your connection to others. The third dimension of Christian Meditation is that it is an act of praise as you dive deeper into the passages of the Bible and understand God’s love for you.

How Can I Start with Christian Meditation?

  1. Non-Guided Meditation: Choose your favorite Bible passage and spend 5-10 minutes reflecting on the meaning and significance of the passage. While spending time in this reflection, breathe deeply and allow yourself to be fully present in the moment. Be sure to sit still and devote your full attention during the 5-10 minutes.
