Summer Thoughts - Self Review

I can't believe it's already July - 2019 is flying by so fast. Summer is now in full swing and it has me thinking about my goals, life direction, and resolutions for this year. It's time to check in with myself to see how much progress I've made. It's so important to take some time and review your life so you can make changes as you need to.

🌺 How do you accomplish a self review?

1. Review your resolutions list for 2019

Set aside about 30 minutes to 1 hour and sit down with your list of 2019 resolutions. Go through your list one by one and cross off the things you have accomplished. You may notice that some of your resolutions need to be revised because they no longer hold the same value to you. We are constantly changing throughout the year and sometimes we need to correct our goals as we go. Update your list according to your new direction and be sure to put your resolution list somewhere you can see it everyday.

2. Choose a role model for yourself

Think about someone you know or a public figure that you really admire. If you chose someone you know, make a plan to spend more time with them so you can start to model their habits and behavior. If you chose a public figure, research their life story and buy any books they have written to get a good understanding of their work ethic and habits. If you start modeling the habits and behavior of your role models, their successes will start to enter your life.

3. Schedule weekly time for your goals

Sometimes we have a really important goal we want to accomplish, but life gets in the way and we get distracted. Time starts to fly by and we haven't made progress on our goal. A really good way to combat this is to schedule time every week that is dedicated to working on your goal. Choose a time slot in your weekly calendar that doesn't change and is solely for working on your goals. If the time is blocked in your calendar, you won't allow as many distractions. Once you start a new habit and schedule time each week, it is very likely you will start to look forward to that time and get excited on your continued progress towards to your goals.
